Philips Lighting discusses the phase out of traditional light sources in favour of new, more energy efficient, solutions.
I bought some 65 w flood light bulbs from Menards for my basement and after I put them in a heard a buzzing and I looked at the box and it said do not use with a dimmer. Is that the case with all incandescent bulbs?
I'm confused. So can I use them

Is it safe to throw out incandescent light bulbs in the trash? I want to properly dispose of them if they are environmentally dangerous. I've tried searching for answers on the web but I can't find any clear answers on this.
Incandescent bulbs contain a small bit of lead in the end of them, but it's not anything to worry about. Fluorescents have mercury vapor in them, but again, it's a trace amount and not dangerous.

With larger vehicles such as vans or big SUVs, Dimmable LEDs can be installed as extra lighting throughout the vehicle....
