Page described the proposed park as a “reflective respite” with a garden, fountain, an iron trellis, benches, flowers and a paved area. Womack said the site at LPD isn’t expected to replace the planned Heroes Park near The Lakeland Center. Police Chief Lisa Womack and Pam Page, assistant director of parks and recreation, discussed the idea at a recent agenda study meeting at City Hall. Page said the park could cost about $150,000, but she was reluctant to place an exact figure on the memorial this early in the process. 18 at a city park on Crystal Grove Lane. The location of the park would be between the palm trees at the entrance of LPD.

My hour and half trip into D. C. turned into two and half hours, thanks to an accident heading in, but I had allotted enough time and showed up at 9:40, out of breath, but there. There I was, last Thursday, sitting in the Rose Garden of the White House, waiting for Barack Obama. It all began with the invitation to be at a certain gate to the White House by 9:45. First I had to get past an unsmiling White House guard. Then we were all ushered into the East Wing of the White House and I took quick peeks down the corridors as we passed through. We had been invited to hear the President speak at one of those ceremonies you see on the evening news but were not told ahead of time the topic. I was scanned twice and had to do the airport security thing as well. The security, as you can imagine, was tight. Next I was twice checked for ID to prove I was on the list.

perhaps Aronofsky should've worked on it a little more, or perhaps, not quite as much. I laughed so hard in the theater at this ridiculous moment that, not only did the two friends I was with begin laughing, several rows of people in front of and behind us snickered and giggled as well. And maybe with a better cast and a stronger script, the interwoven storylines might've worked. Unfortunately, it's really the only thing that's worth watching in this film. There are some really pretty scenes though. That's how bad this movie is. Atonement has an amazing five-minute tracking shot two-thirds of the way into the film. Otherwise, I found the film messy and stilted. It's a beautiful, moving moment of soldiers on the beach at Dunkirk....

 I found her in the garden, leaning against a quiescent fountain, alone and enjoying a quick cigarette.  I had an enlightening conversation with one of the Mason clerks and he informed me that I would be drawing a wage of ten pounds, six shillings a month plus expenses and that I would be required to sign for a new uniform and 'weaponry appropriate... I think this has to rank as the fastest promotion in history, from new recruit to captain inside of about an hour.  For the time being I accepted another set of captain's bars that he helped me attach to my FJD uniform and then I went in search of Trilly again.  I rejected both and stalled him as far as signing the paperwork formalising my recruitment was concerned....
