Are portable LPG heaters legal for home use in Sweden?

Mar 30, 2009 by Coris Airport | Posted in Engineering

Here in New Zealand, people like their portable LPG heaters. But we tend to think of NZ as one of the few places adventurous enough to allow them for home use, imagining every place else to be far too safety conscious to allow them.

They are incredibly dangerous anywhere indoors as the fumes from combustion stay in the room. This includes deadly Carbon Monoxide.
Also, they deplete the Oxygen in the room.

portable home heater that runs on batteries?

Dec 21, 2008 by viva la jessi | Posted in Other - Home & Garden

we've looked on google and couldn't find anything close to what we're looking for. we've been searching for a type of heater that runs on batteries rather than electricity (for when the power goes out). not gas/propane powered etc. just batteries.

Irene: Portable Generator Safety Tips

Follow these tips from Connecticut Light and Power and the Consumer Product Safety Commission to ensure the safe use of your generator. These gasoline-powered generators can provide electrical power for household needs in the wake of a prolonged power outage, but they have their dangers if used improperly. Portable generators have been a hot item the past few days as area residents prepared for Hurricane Irene. They should be placed outdoors and should be kept far away from doors and vents. You shouldn’t use a generator indoors even if you open the windows and doors—an unlikely action indeed in hurricane conditions. Generators can quickly produce high levels of the poisonous gas carbon monoxide if not used in a ventilated area. Generators should never be used inside, including areas such as garages, crawlspaces, and basements.
