Here in New Zealand, people like their portable LPG heaters. But we tend to think of NZ as one of the few places adventurous enough to allow them for home use, imagining every place else to be far too safety conscious to allow them.
Now
Why Sweden? Swedish people are very safety conscious.
They are incredibly dangerous anywhere indoors as the fumes from combustion stay in the room. This includes deadly Carbon Monoxide.
Also, they deplete the Oxygen in the room.

we've looked on google and couldn't find anything close to what we're looking for. we've been searching for a type of heater that runs on batteries rather than electricity (for when the power goes out). not gas/propane powered etc. just batteries.
I doubt that you find it because anything that generates heat takes a large amount of power and it would drain batteries out to quickly. only option I know of would be an electric one that you could run off of a generator or a battery back up pellet
