yep , 2 wires, replace it. Like plugging in a lamp with 2 prongs. wiring either way works. Doesnt matter.

I need to know which Honeywell thermostat would replace the Janitrol thermostat. I have a Goodman furnance and a Janitrol HPT 18 60 thermostat and want to replace it with a Honeywell digital thermostat.
I've checked the Web a bit and can't seem to find any cut sheets for the Janitrol - I do see some sites with cached forums on wiring for these units. Bottom line - you should be able to use, pretty much, any of the residential, programmable stats that

Now, the rattling sound stays on the entire time the heater is on. Coincidentally, my roommate bought the same exact heater and hers does the exact same thing. It worked great for the first three weeks, and I was quite happy with it, but after that time it started making an annoying rattling sound when it started up.
