Its not that they contribute dust its that they can't be properly cleaned. That's why people with allergies cant have carpets.

I have a lrg oreck which no longer works. I've seen 2 for 1 ads about Sharper Image but in looking on the internet they have poor reviews. Primarily I seek air cleaning or dust removal. The extra bio scrubing is not required (but nice). Sharper Image
The best filters are HEPA filters. They are used in microbiology labs to filter bacteria and viruses out of the air.
Electrostatic filters do ok. The problem is that most put ozone (they rarely call it that, they refer to negative ions)

Dusty differences There is a common misconception that staying indoors will protect you from germs and infection but the opposite can be true, due to the fact that indoor air can be poorly circulated and refreshed. These can include airborne bacteria and fungi, both of which can cause infection and release allergens into the air.
